Description

Tasting Note: In contrast to the nose of the MAV, this is cool, airy and much more elegant with its pretty, even perfumed aromas of red currant, rose petal and spice. There is excellent vibrancy to the markedly mineral-driven flavors that are not especially dense but do offer very good detail and sneaky good persistence on the linear and moderately austere finale. This is certainly pretty but would benefit from having better depth.

The Winery

Philippe Pacalet, a celebrated winemaker in Burgundy, honed his craft under the guidance of his uncle, Marcel Lapierre, a pioneer in natural winemaking and worked for Domaine Prieure Roch for 10 years. Known for his minimal intervention approach, Pacalet produces elegant Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that capture the essence of their terroir. His commitment to organic practices and traditional methods results in wines of purity and complexity, distinguishing his winery in the region.As Philippe did his civil service in the Northern Rhône, he felt it was time to give back to Syrah, and his friendship with Thierry Allemand.
