Domaine Macle — Star of Château‑Chalon | Jura Icon

Domaine Macle has long been famed for producing the finest oxidative wines in the Jura. The estate was created by Jean Macle in 1966, although the family — originally from Italy with the surname Mascolino — had farmed vines since the 1850s.

Today, Laurent Macle has been at the helm for over 20 years, now working alongside his sister Christelle, who took over the role of their recently retired mother. Together they cultivate 4 hectares of Château‑Chalon and 8 hectares of other oxidative wines, aged for a shorter period than the legendary Château‑Chalon.
