From Iconic Napa Valley Vineyards, one of the star wineries, not only in Napa Valley but in all of California.

It began in 1972 when John Shafer left a career in Publishing and moved to the Napa Valley with his family to pursue a career in wine. The family purchased a large estate in the Stag’s Leap District, and set to work on replanting all the existing vineyards, which had been there since the 1920s.

Shafer TD-9 Cabernet Sauvignon

TD-9 is a rich, vibrant expression of some of our favorite Napa Valley vineyards. The name of this Cabernet Sauvignon celebrates John Shafer’s first tractor, a TD-9 International Harvester.

Tasting Note: Offering up scents of cherries, wood spice and vanilla, it may lack a bit of complexity and concentration, but this full-bodied effort still hits all the right notes, finishing long and velvety.

Varietal: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 4% Malbec, 3% Petit Verdot

Shafer Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay

This vintage is a celebration of the Chardonnay from our beautiful Red Shoulder Ranch® vineyard in Napa Valley’s Carneros District. Year after year this Shafer-owned vineyard offers up wine with plush, exotic, zesty aromas and flavors.

Tasting Note: Delivering pristine pineapple notes alongside hints of citrus curd, pencil shavings and mocha. Full-bodied, round and generous, this no-malolactic-fermentation Chardonnay harmoniously tapers down into a clean, crisp finish.
