Winemaker Note: This lovely, ripe Crozes that comes from Syrah grapes grown on the Hermitage hillsides is owned by one of the members of the Chave winemaking team. Dark purple, glossy and quite rich in appearance, there is an expressive range of aromas that leap out of the glass: cassis, rock, salinity, violets, and blackberries. Here, the gravel soils which lie on the bedrock of granite serve to accentuate the floral violet notes in the nose and bring out more serious, richer, savoury notes of spice, black olives, and wild bramble fruit on the palate. Long, generous, and satisfying on the finish.
