Sherry Quarter Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Peated and unpeated spirit matured first in the strong foundations of the American rye casks with a second maturation in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry quarter casks, this whisky exudes peppery spice, dried sultanas and hints of vanilla with a finish of lingering salty chocolate and a light hint of aromatic wood smoke.

What is Dùn Cana?

‘Dùn’ is Gaelic for an elevated stronghold. The word has been commonly adopted across Scotland in place names such as ‘Dùn’dee, ‘Dùn’keld, ‘Dùn’fermline and ‘Dùn’add in Argyll. Island legend holds that ‘Cana’ was an island warrior who took to the highest point on Raasay for his stronghold and lookout. The island peak named after Cana became ‘Dùn Cana’ – pronounced ‘Doon Caa-nuh’. Dùn Cana offers spectacular views at the summit all the way from Applecross to the Isle of Skye, a ‘must see’ on any visit to Raasay.
