Tasting Note: A more deeply pitched nose reluctantly offers up its aromas of dark currant, plum, violet and rose petal. The middleweight flavors are not as concentrated or as mineral-driven but they are noticeably finer while exhibiting focused power on the dusty, solidly persistent and linear finish. This will need to develop better depth to merit the upper end of my projected range, but it is indisputably pretty.

The Winery

Philippe Pacalet, a celebrated winemaker in Burgundy, honed his craft under the guidance of his uncle, Marcel Lapierre, a pioneer in natural winemaking and worked for Domaine Prieure Roch for 10 years. Known for his minimal intervention approach, Pacalet produces elegant Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that capture the essence of their terroir. His commitment to organic practices and traditional methods results in wines of purity and complexity, distinguishing his winery in the region.As Philippe did his civil service in the Northern Rhône, he felt it was time to give back to Syrah, and his friendship with Thierry Allemand.
