Tasting Note: Gran Reserva wines I tasted from that year were truly impressive. Starting with the 2014 Viña Pedrosa Gran Reserva, it's pure Tempranillo from old vines this time (it sometimes contains some Cabernet Sauvignon, but apparently not in 2014) and achieved very good ripeness without excess. The élevage in French barriques for 24 months has polished the edges and delivered a polished and round palate with a velvety texture and a balanced mouthfeel. It has the house signature, elegant rusticity and integrated oak—a wine that screams Ribera del Duero.
