Tasting Note: The 2021 Chardonnay is detailed and fine in its fruit profile, but the flinty/struck match characters that overlay it make it a heck of a mouthful. This is undoubtedly a classy wine; however, through the finish, it has a pithy, tart edge to the acidity, which indicates it probably needs another year or so to soften into itself. Additionally, the cool, excellent 2021 vintage may be accentuating this edgy element in the wine, and that in itself, will serve it well in the long run.
