Winemaker Note: The Blagny la Pièce sous le Bois Premier Cru, just like its neighbour Meursault-Blagny Premier Cru Blanc, is strongly distinguished by its limestone terroir. It is one of the very few appellations in the Côte de Beaune where Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grow happily side by side on the same plot. Dark and intense fruits dominate the spicy notes that follow on the nose. It is full-bodied with rich tannins and surprises the palate with its minerality and energy.

The Winery
Domaine Matrot, located in the heart of Burgundy, is a family-owned winery with a history dating back to the early 20th century. Known for producing elegant and balanced wines, particularly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the estate practices sustainable viticulture. Their focus on minimal intervention allows the unique terroir of Meursault and surrounding appellations to shine through in each bottle.
