Tasting Note: A blend of four casks of 2013, 2014 and 2015 made the NV Macvin du Jura (marked L14 on the label). It has a delicious nose of bitter orange peel, old grappa and white pepper. It doesn't feel as sweet as it is—it contains 120 grams but has very good acidity.

Macvin du Jura was awarded appelation controlee status in 1991, and it produces powerful vin de liqueur wines by arresting the fermentation of the grape juice and adding already-pressed grapes, or marc. The result is a sweet but uniquely earthy wine that is served as an aperitif or with lightly sweet dishes. This style of wine has been made since the 14th Century.
