Tasting note: There is a touch of phenolic character (think olive oil nuances) to the equally smoky aromas of just sliced apple and a discreet dollop of wood. The rich, vibrant and sappy larger-bodied flavors are blessed with an abundance of dry extract that contributes to the impression of volume while also buffering the moderately firm acid spine shaping the impressively long and powerful finale. This is a terrific Meursault villages and one that should also amply repay mid-term keeping.
