Tasting Note: Offering up aromas of sweet berry fruit, petals and spices, framed by a deft application of toasty oak, the 2018 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Narbantons is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, with a generous, broad-shouldered profile that's typical of the vintage but which avoids excess.

The Winery

Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret, established in Vosne-Romanée since 1620, is an eight-generation family estate spanning approximately 30 hectares across 35 appellations. They produce primarily red wines from Pinot Noir and white wines from Chardonnay, adhering to traditional Burgundian methods. Vincent Mongeard, the current winemaker, employs careful vinification techniques, including mostly destemming (except for Richebourg, where one-third of the stems are retained), and moderate sulfuring to preserve the wines.
