Tasting Note: The 2017 Greywacke Wild Sauvignon Blanc offers a beautifully complex and textural alternative to classic Marlborough styles, featuring inviting aromas of white tropical fruit, lychee, gooseberry, and a hint of nougat, complemented by a flinty, juicy palate with well-integrated acidity. This cooler-vintage expression is notably restrained and refreshing, yet full-bodied with a fleshy texture, a rich, round finish, and a distinct flinty character from its spontaneous fermentation in old oak.

The Winery
Greywacke (pronounced Greywacky) is the Marlborough label of the Judd family and the name of New Zealand’s most abundant bedrock. These understated grey river stones are found throughout Marlborough’s rivers and alluvial vineyard soils. Kevin Judd moved to New Zealand in 1983 and worked for Cloudy Bay for 25 years. He then started Greywacke since 2009.
