Description

Tasting Note: The 2019 d'Aiguilhe sports a very deep garnet-purple color, springing from the glass with vivacious scents of fresh blueberries, kirsch and ripe blackberries plus wafts of underbrush, wilted roses, chalk dust and chocolate-covered cherries with a hint of lavender. The medium-bodied palate has an electric line of freshness cutting through the perfumed black fruits, textured by finely grained, soft tannins, finishing with a skip in its step.

Côtes de Bordeaux Castillon is the appellation title for Côtes de Bordeaux wines made specifically in the Castillon district, at the very eastern edge of Bordeaux. Until 2009, these wines were sold as Côtes de Castillon.

The Merlot-Cabernet Franc duet is an established and important variant on the classic red Bordeaux blend, particularly on the Right Bank. It is used in the prestigious and Saint-Émilion and Pomerol appellations, and is behind some very high-profile wines.
