Pirramimma Ironstone Low Trellis Shiraz 2016
- McLaren Vale, McLaren Vale
- Red Wine
The bouquet displays spicy red plum, mulberry, bramble and subtle cedary oak, with hints of coconut and vanilla. The palate shows distinctive regional flavours f dark chocolate, Satsuma plum, wild loganberries, blackberry and toasted Mocha oak, complemented by spice and black pepper notes. This rich powerful Shiraz is wonderfully balanced with fruit, firm structured tannin and oak in harmony.
In 1892 Alexander Campbell Johnston planted the first small vine cuttings on his newly purchased 97-hectare property in McLaren Vale, South Australia. Alexander settled with his family on the property and proudly named it "Pirramimma", an Aboriginal phrase meaning 'the moon and the stars'. More than 115 years and three generations later the Johnston Family still operates one of Australia's oldest and proudest family owned and run wineries - Pirramimma. Making wines that range from the traditional to the innovative, Pirramimma is pure McLaren Vale.
