Description

Margaux is an important appellation in the Haut-Médoc district of Bordeaux, southwestern France. Located 25 kilometers (15 miles) north of the city of Bordeaux, the appellation is famous for producing supple, perfumed wines, predominantly from Cabernet Sauvignon, which can show excellent structure and longevity.

Cabernet Sauvignon – Merlot wines are made from two of the world's most famous and most widely grown wine grapes. The pair form the foundation of many of the great wines of Bordeaux, where this classic blend (often dubbed "Bordeaux Blend") is thought to have originated.

Tasting note: "The nose is fruity, fresh and offers gourmandize, a fine intensity and a fine deepness. It reveals notes of pulpy/fresh cassis, fresh/ripe blackberryand small notes of crushed strawberry associated with touches of crushed blueberry as well as fine hints of zan, violet, a hint of crushed red berries, a discreet hint of nutmeg, toasted and a subtle hint of fresh tobacco. The palate is fruity, fresh, well-balanced and offers density, an acidulous frame, a beautiful definition, a small unctuosity, a fine grain, tension as well as finesse and fullness/gourmandize. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed cassis, pulpy blackberryand small notes of crushed blueberry associated with touches of crushed raspberry as well as fine hints of chocolate, toasted, crushed hazelnut, a subtle hint of small crushed red berries and sugared mild tobacco. Good length. Tannins are elegant. Persistence and a subtle chew in the finish/persistence."
