Description

A very pretty nose offers up ripe aromas composed by essence of red cherry, spice and lavender-suffused aromas. There is a lovely and refined mouth feel to the caressing middle weight flavors that possess solid intensity and energy that carries over to the well-balanced and markedly firm finale. This excellent effort is going to require at least some patience initially to unwind and ultimately should reward 12 to 15 years of bottle aging. -AM

The Winery

Albert Morot is a family-owned estate situated in the Cote De Beaune wine region. The domaine comprises 8 hectares (20 acres) of vineyards, including plots in seven Premier Cru climats in Beaune Les Teurons, Les Bressandes, Les Toussaints, Les Greves, Les Cent Vignes, Les Aigrots and Les Marconnets and one in Savigny-les-Beaune, Bataillere. The estate was originally established as a negociant business in 1820 by Albert Morot. The company bought its first vines in the 1880s, and built the cellars, Chateau de Creusotte, in 1898. Morot's great-granddaughter Francoise Choppin inherited the estate in 1984 and stopped the negociant business, instead turning all focus to the estate-owned vineyard parcels. In 2000, Geoffroy Choppin de Janvry assumed the management of the domaine.
