The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain, a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, 4% Malbec and 1% Merlot, is deep garnet-purple colored with an earthy/savory nose of chargrilled meat and underbrush with a core of cassis and warm plums. Robert Craig Winery is a Californian wine producer primarily known for its Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines. The estate was founded by Robert Craig who has been making small-lot mountain vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon wines in the Napa Valley for over 30 years. In 1993 Robert Craig acquired a 3-hectare (8-acre) vineyard in the foothills of Mount George in the Coombsville AVA, where the climate is reasonably cool. The grapes cultivated here form the basis of the single-vineyard Affinity Cabernet Sauvignon blend that typically features smaller quantities of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
