Beautiful spice, tobacco, cedar and ripe berry follow through to a full body, with velvety tannins and a gorgeous finish. - WS
San Filippo is an Italian wine estate located in Montalcino, in Tuscany. It produces Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Rosso di Montalcino DOC, and Sant'Antimo Rosso DOC wines from four estate vineyards. The 22-hectare (54-acre) estate is planted to 11ha (27 acres) of vines, primarily Sangiovese with some Merlot and Syrah. San Filippo's four vineyards include the northeast-facing sites Le Lucere and La Storta, the north-facing La Raffiche vineyard, and the southwest-exposed La Smarrita vineyard. Soils are composed of clay intermingled with marl and limestone.
