The Damilano family business dates back to 1890 when Giuseppe Borgogno, the great grandfather of the current owners, first began to make his own estate wines. The vineyards were then developed by his son-in-law, Giacomo Damilano. The estate comprises 53 hectares (131 acres) of vineyards, including plots in four of the Barolo Cru vineyards which make four single-vineyard wines: Cannubi, Brunate, Cerequio and Liste. In addition, Damilano produces Lecinquevigne, a Barolo from vineyards in five different towns around the region. Outside of Barolo, the range also includes Nebbiolo d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba and Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Asti, Langhe Arneis, Rosato, Moscato d'Asti, Barolo Chinato and Grappa di Nebbiolo di Barolo.
