Here too there is just enough wood present to warrant mentioning setting off the very ripe and attractively fresh combination of plum liqueur, spice and floral scents. The more elegant, intense and mineral-driven flavors culminate in a very firm, serious and wonderfully complex finale. This is borderline old school effort is also clearly constructed to age and will need at least 7 to 8 years and should amply reward 12 to 15. - AM
Domaine Buisson-Charles possesses top vineyards of Meursault, Pommard and Volnay. The vines are between 30 and 90 years old which allow the production of very concentrated wines destined for ageing. The estate is now run by the fourth generation, Catherine Buisson, and husband, Patrick Essa. As the winemaker, Patrick believes the terroir, not the winemaking, should determine the taste of the wine, and his creations reflect the essence of their appellations.
