Vosne-Romanée is a hallowed commune in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, combining a number of famous and much-prized grand and premier cru vineyards with a raft of stellar names and a captivating history.
The dominant red wine grape of Burgundy, Pinot Noir is now adopted and adored in wine regions all over the world. The variety's elusive charm has carried it to all manner of vineyards around the world and as of 2016, it was the sixth most-planted grape variety.
tasting note: "An initial whiff of reduction dissipates to display tart red cherry on this wine's subtle nose. The palate comes in with crunch, showing edges of iron oxide and pepper made vivid by brightness and freshness. Underneath it all is a firm, fine texture. A graceful and lasting framework of tannin lets the freshness and fruit shine in all their elegance."
