Leroy Beaujolais Villages Primeur 2023
- Red Wine
Beaujolais Villages is the appellation for red, white and rosé wines from a zone made up of 38 villages in the north of Beaujolais. The hilly terrain and granite soil here is considered superior to that of the flatter lands in the south and as a result, Beaujolais Villages wines are considered to be of a higher quality than those of the straight Beaujolais appellation.
Gamay (Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc in full) is most famous for producing the light, fruit-driven red wines of Beaujolais.
The wine has a light and soft body, light tannins, and an unrestrained and strong fruity aroma full of cherry, blueberry, and blackcurrant aromas.
