This is aromatically similar to the straight Bourgogne if perhaps just slightly higher-toned in its fruit profile. There is a bit more verve to the exceptionally rich flavors that terminate in a bitter cherry pit-inflected finale. It's rare to see this level of richness in a wine from the Hautes-C繫tes. -AM
Domaine Gros Frere et Soeur is a Burgundy wine producer based in Vosne-Roman?e. It makes a range of Pinot Noir-based wines from some of the region's top vineyards, including the grands crus Richebourg, Echezeaux, Grands ?chezeaux and Clos de Vougeot. The domaine also makes white and red Hautes Cotes de Nuits wines, and wines from several premier cru vineyards in Vosne-Romanee. Gros Frere et Soeur has its origins in the 1963 division of the Louis Gros estate. This was divided between his four children, and Gustave and Colette Gros combined their shares to form Gros Frere et Soeur. It is currently run by Colette's nephew Bernard Gros.
