Domaine Vacheron Sancerre Le Paradis 2020

Loire Valley
White Wine

The Vacheron cousins own 1 hectare of vines in the lieu-dit of Le Paradis. Their plot is on a steep south-facing slope with shallow limestone soils. The soil is so thin and poor that the vine roots grow deeply into fissures in the bedrock below. Le Paradis is an explosively aromatic wine, dense on the palate with a broad mineral character kept in check by a sinuous acidity that keeps things lively.

Tasting note: "Mango and ripe apricot flavors give this wine an exotic character that balances with the texture and minerality that are still young. The wine needs to age further to bring out its elegance. Drink from 2023. Roger Voss" - 93/100, Wine Enthusiast

The Winery

The Vacheron family, with more than forty hectares of vineyards, is one of the largest producers in the Sancerre region, managing domaine one of the few that can boast an equal penchant for the production of both red wines than white wines. Big supporters of the environmental respect and strenuous actuators biodynamic approach, the Vacheron produce refined and minerals Sauvignon, which reflect a maximum of one terroir capable of expressing with brightness and aristocratic profile. Among the red wines, however, it is surprising the Pinot Noir, which can stand the comparison with the same degree of Cote d'Or. By running vinification with painstaking care, the ultimate goal of Domaine Vacheron is aimed at expressive search for originality of each cru, characterized by many facets that only one area such as Sancerre is able to provide.
