Pirramimma Ironstone Old Bush Grenache 2016
- McLaren Vale
- Red Wine
This is a magnificent rendition of the variety; the inviting bouquet shows dark plum, dried cherry, vanilla pod, cake spice and smoked game characters, leading to a concentrated palate that? expansive and mouthfilling. It? wonderfully composed and styled with flowing texture backed by fine grainy tannins.
In 1892 Alexander Campbell Johnston planted the first small vine cuttings on his newly purchased 97-hectare property in McLaren Vale, South Australia. Alexander settled with his family on the property and proudly named it "Pirramimma", an Aboriginal phrase meaning 'the moon and the stars'. More than 115 years and three generations later the Johnston Family still operates one of Australia's oldest and proudest family owned and run wineries - Pirramimma. Making wines that range from the traditional to the innovative, Pirramimma is pure McLaren Vale.
