The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder comes from a vineyard once owned by the late Robin Williams called Pym Rae (now owned by the Tesseron family from Bordeaux) that sits at an elevation of 1,800 feet. Blueberry, blackberry and cassis are all present in this full-bodied wine that displays the high-elevation bluer fruits that Mt. Veeder can provide. There is a floweriness and full-bodied richness, big extract, but great balance and no rusticity. This beauty should drink well for at least 25-30 years. -WA
Robert Craig Winery is a Californian wine producer primarily known for its Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines. The estate was founded by Robert Craig who has been making small-lot mountain vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon wines in the Napa Valley for over 30 years. In 1993 Robert Craig acquired a 3-hectare (8-acre) vineyard in the foothills of Mount George in the Coombsville AVA, where the climate is reasonably cool. The grapes cultivated here form the basis of the single-vineyard Affinity Cabernet Sauvignon blend that typically features smaller quantities of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
