Hudson Old Master 2018
- Red Wine
The 2018 Old Master Proprietary Red is composed of 76% Cabernet Franc and 24% Merlot. Deep garnet-purple colored, it bursts from the glass with red currant jelly, kirsch and Black Forest cake scents plus hints of wild sage, tilled soil and pencil shavings. Medium to full-bodied, the palate offers a very firm, grainy texture along with a lively backbone, finishing with loads of layers. - Wine Advocate
Hudson Vineyards is a 2000 acre ranch contained entirely within the Napa side of Carneros in the southern part of the Napa Valley. The founder, Robert Hudson who referred as Lee, worked in Burgundy France for 1.5 years then earned his Master’s Degree in Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis. In 2008 he was awarded “Grower of the Year” by the Napa Valley Grape growers. Today he and his wife Christina and son Ed help oversee the ranch operations. Lee purchased the ranch in 1981 and first harvest was in 1983. Over the years, the Hudson Ranch has become one of the most famous sites in all of Carneros.
