Description

Anderson Valley is an AVA (American Viticultural Area) in Mendocino County, California. It lies at the very northern end of California's prime winegrowing area, approximately 100 miles (160km) north of downtown San Francisco.

The dominant red wine grape of Burgundy, Pinot Noir is now adopted and adored in wine regions all over the world. The variety's elusive charm has carried it to all manner of vineyards around the world and as of 2016, it was the sixth most-planted grape variety.

tasting note: "This medium-bodied wine balances fresh, tangy red-fruit flavors with more generous baking spices, for an appetizing, fresh-tasting quality bolstered by good acidity and moderate tannins. It's one of Jason Drew's lighter expressions in this vintage.”

The Winery

Jason and Molly Drew started Drew eighteen years ago with a clear goal in mind: to craft small lot coastal wines that express site specificity and traditional varietal character. While the beginnings of Drew began in the Santa Rita Hills AVA in 2000, they transplanted their small operation to the Mendocino Coast in 2005 to establish their estate ranch and winery. Drew continues to focus on small lot coastal Pinot Noir and Syrah from both Anderson Valley and the Mendocino Ridge. They continue their long standing partnerships with several local vineyard growers who share their passion for sustainable and meticulous farming practices.
