Description

Pauillac is a well-regarded a commune and appellation on Bordeaux's Médoc peninsula. It is home to some of the world's most famous and expensive red wines, wines made predominantly from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape variety.

Red Bordeaux Blends are known for their powerful structure and deep flavors. Dark fruits and berries such as plum and blackcurrant are commonly used to describe the flavors of red Bordeaux, although there is an unlimited range of terms that have been ascribed to them. Tannins tend to be relatively high in these wines, giving them a firm structure.

Tasting note: "The wine is deep, dark & virtually opaque. Ripe dark berry & lively cassis fruit aromas combine with chocolatey notes on a complex & opulent nose. On the palate the dark fruits are lean, closed & brooding with a meaty nature. Acid is a little low & alcohol is balanced. Length is average. If the palate opens up to match the nose, this will be a superb wine." - 11/10 DCAMW
