The Winery

Description

A moderately exotic nose features notes of pear liqueur, white peach, passion fruit and a whisper of citrus character. There is pretty good detail to the nicely energetic middle weight flavors that conclude in a rustic if delicious finale. Note that this could easily be enjoyed on the younger side. - AM

The Winery

A relative newcomer who started in 1999, Pacalet does not own any vineyards but instead rents a selection of plots with interesting terroirs. Until 2007 winemaking took place in several borrowed spaces, but then Pacalet purchased a 19th-Century cellar in the heart of Beaune from the de Montille family. He is also regarded as a leading light in the natural wine movement.
