A ripe and very fresh mix of red berries, warm earth and soft tea nuances leads to relatively full-bodied and delicious middle weight flavors that possess a suave and round mouth feel, all wrapped in a balanced and lingering finish. This is not especially complex at present yet the underlying material is present such that more will almost certainly develop. - AM
Domaine Fourrier is a Burgundy wine estate based in Gevrey-Chambertin on the C繫te d'Or. Its wines, mostly made from Pinot Noir, are highly sought-after and known for their silky finesse. Fourrier is perhaps best known for its wine from the famed Clos Saint-Jacques Premier Cru vineyard. The domaine's vineyard holdings total 8.7 hectares (21.5 acres), located predominantly in Gevrey-Chambertin. These include parcels in seven different Gevrey-Chambertin premier cru sites, and a small plot in the Griottes-Chambertin Grand Cru vineyard. Plots in Chambolle-Musigny, including two Premier Crus, Morey-Saint-Denis and the Les Petits Vougeots Premier Cru vineyard complete the portfolio. Only fruit from vines older than 30 years old are used to make Domaine Fourrier wines.
