There is a lovely sense of tension and precision to the lightly mineral-inflected flavors that offer good richness and persistence on the well-balanced and firm finish.
The domaine was founded at the end of the 1950s by Fernand Lecheneaut with a little more than 2ha of vineyards in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis. During its early years, the domaine sold bulk wine to negociants. In the 1980s, Fernand's sons Philippe and Vincent took over and in 1987 began expanding the domaine's vineyard holdings, while beginning to bottle wines at the estate. The new Lecheneaut plots included several premier cru vineyards in Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin.
