Light amber red core with a translucent rim. Aromatics of smoky grilled meat, camp fire, crunchy roasted red berry fruits, wild floral and forest floor. Very Chambollish palate, soft, caressing and alluring displaying medium bodied flavors of pure elegant red currant fruits, orange marmalade, forest floor, and some stony minerals. Supple tannins with a very good length and a delightful finish.
Ex-domaine Burgundy. Domaine Georges Lignier et Fils is a 37-acre estate in Morey-St.-Denis that has been in the Lignier family for generations. The current owner is Georges, grandson of the founder. The domaine has Grand Cru parcels in Clos de la Roche, Clos Saint-Denis, Charmes Chambertin and Bonnes-Mares. There are Premier Cru parcels in Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey-Saint-Denis and Volnay.
