The Camus family has owned the estate since the 1930s, although the domaine itself dates to 1732. The estate primarily produces Pinot Noir from an impressive lineup of Gevrey-Chambertin grand cru sites, including the famous Chambertin vineyard. The estate consists of 18 hectares (44 acres) of vineyard land, ranging from the generic Bourgogne appellation to grand Cru-level vineyards. Camus has sites in Chambertin, Charmes-Chambertin, Latricieres-Chambertin, Mazoyeres-Chambertin and a tiny plot in Mazis-Chambertin. Around 30 percent of the domaine's fruit is sold to other producers.
