This shows both the fruit of the vintage and a more structured tannic side. Black currant flavors are up front, offering a generous feeling. They are balanced by the backdrop of tannins and tight acidity. Together they make a wine that is concentrated and likely to be ready to drink soon.
Château Teyssier is the core Saint-Émilion property of the JCP Maltus / SCEA Châtea Teyssier group, which has labels from both Bordeaux and California. Founder Jonathan Maltus is also owner and winemaker of the renowned Le Dôme "garage" wine. The Château Teyssier wine is typically a blend of 85 percent Merlot and 15 percent Cabernet Franc made from a number of parcels based in the southwest plain of the Saint-Émilion appellation, with most of the vines being located near Château Monbousquet. Soils are mainly sandy with some iron deposits.
