The Winery

The 2018 Fleurie Abbaye Road is showing very well, bursting with aromas of ripe cherries, dried flowers and licorice. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, rich and enveloping, with an ample chassis of tannin, ripe but succulent acids and a long, flavorful finish. Delienne's new system for blanketing each tank with carbon dioxide meant that he could macerate this bottling for longer than in the past, and it's correspondingly more complete. -WA
